KUILSRIVER COMMUNITY CHURCH
(Uniting Presbyterian-Congregational )
KUILSRIVER COMMUNITY CHURCH
MINISTRIES
When our Lord's earthly ministry was completed, He commanded the church to carry His good news to the world. By sharing our faith in Christ, we are helping to fulfill His Great Commission.
Who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. - 2 Corinthians 3:6
CHLDRENS MINISTRY
Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away. - Matthew 19: 13-15
We value our children as equals in Jesus and try to focus on intergenerational Christian worship. The Childrens Ministry takes place during service times.
Pastoral Care is implicit in much of what we do as a Church and inherent in who we are as a community
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. - Acts 20:28
We have a team of pastoral carers who try to meet the needs of the congregation as they hear of them. Pastoral Care covers everything from basic home visits to counselling.
With this in mind we have partnered with Hope House Counseling Center in order to help meet the desperate need in our society
SOUP KITCHEN
Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him. - Proverbs 14:31
We are currently involved in 2 feeding schemes. Children are fed in Kalkfontein every Monday and we are involved in the United Soup Kitchen which runs near Kuils River train station.
Jesus said: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I thirsty and you gave me something to drink..." - Matthew 25:35
Having run a successful packing event we as Kuils River Community Church truly support the concept of the Stop Hunger Campaign and seek to do more events in the future.
